Position Available: Library Clerk

The Dover Plains Library in Wingdale, NY seeks a part-time Circulation Clerk for 11 hours a week: Fridays 3-8pm and Saturdays 10-4pm (with the potential for more hours).  The ideal candidate must be dependable, computer savvy & friendly.  He/she must also work well as part of a team, be able to follow directions, be willing to take on tasks independently and be customer service-oriented.  Reliable transportation is a must.  Previous experience in libraries is a plus.  Must be able to lift 35 lbs and multi-task.
Starting Salary: $10.40/hr
Anticipated Start Date: Late May

We Are Now a Field Goods Pick-up Site

No time to shop? Image result for field goodsThe library is now a Field Goods’ pick-up location for locally-grown fruits and vegetables with deliveries every Friday!
Field Goods is a year-round local produce delivery service; customers receive 5 to 8 different fruit and vegetables (depending on bag size),
plus optional add-ons. Bags cost $16 to $32 per week, and can be put on hold at any time. It’s flexible!

Each bag sold earns the library $1 for programming. The order deadline for a Friday delivery is Tuesday at 11:59 pm.
Field Goods purchases everything directly from over 80 small farms in the region. All of the produce is non-GMO, and most is organically grown.

Kindles Circulating at the Dover Library!

In late 2016 the Dover Plains Library was selected by the Mid-Hudson Library System to receive a $1200 grant for Kindle Paperwhites to be circulated—with a special interest in serving the active senior population in the community!!! The grant money was provided by New York State.
The Kindles have been pre-loaded with bestsellers, but special requests for specific books are also being accepted.
One-on-one tutoring is available. There is a $25 refundable security deposit, payable by cash or check. The loan period is 3 weeks. Stop in and check out a Kindle today!
